The state duma and the reforms of Russian education (1906-1917)

The aim of the article is to analyze the activities of the first Russian parliament in the formation and the development of the education system in the country. Education is one of the key areas of society, the state of which directly affects all other parts of the social organism and the development of the country as a whole. At the beginning of the 20th century, the value of education became obvious, as the country needed appropriately trained engineering, industrial and agricultural personnel. The issues of training scientific and pedagogical personnel of higher education schools occupied a significant place in the work of the Duma. It pays a special attention to secondary and primary education, the development of science and education, the development of national education, improving the financial situation of the teaching staff, to the women's issue and the rights of students. It is no coincidence that the third State Duma received the unofficial name of Duma of National Education.
