Public-private partnership as an important aspect of energy security in the region

This article discusses the use of alternative energy sources, particularly wind energy, as well as the importance of developing of alternative energy in maintaining ecological balance, energy security and socio-economic development of the state and the individual regions. The analysis of a modern condition of the energy complex of Kalmyk Republic reveales a number of problems of ensuring a sustainable energy supply of the region. It is shown that the decrease in the deficit of electric power can be achieved by increasing their own generation of electric energy on the basis of the use of non-conventional sources on the territory of Kalmyk Republic. It notes the important role of public-private partnership in realization of programs of development of alternative power at the regional level. The need for such a partnership occurs primarily in those areas for which the state is traditionally responsible, in particular, in the energy sector.
