The analysis of various historical and legal aspects of the formation and development of Russia, a multinational, multi-confessional state with a vast territory, a complex political and national history, cannot be considered complete and complete without a comprehensive study of individual segments, phenomena, which include the statehood of the Chechen Republic, which since the early 90s of the XX century was the most complex and a politically unstable region of the Russian Federation. As a result of the actions of destructive forces, the development of the statehood of the Chechen Republic was suspended. The Republic found itself outside the political and legal processes of the Russian Federation. It took decades to restore the statehood of the Chechen Republic as part of the Federation and cost a lot of money, which was due to its importance in strengthening the Federation itself. The author of the article offers his vision of the statehood of the Chechen Republic and its significance as part of Russia.
