The gothic motives in the Russian art of the XVIII-th century

The article is devoted to the interpretation of Gothic elements in the Russian art of the XVIII-th century. The author considers some change of attitude to Gothic. It had been varying for a century beginning from the perception of themes of West European Gothic and Russian Middle Ages as common and conjoint ones through the interpretation of Gothic as one of the exotic motives.
