The article examines the grammatical structure of the Chinese language during the Han Empire (206 BC - 220 AD). The main attention is paid to the morphological and syntactic features of the language of that time, as well as the specifics of expressing grammatical meanings in the absence of a developed affixation system. It is noted that the language of the Han era was analytical, with minimal use of morphological means and a strong reliance on word order and service words.
