The article deals with the syntactic features of the discourse expressions in the fictional text. The text analysis is undertaken in the aspect of the author’s intention. The institutional discourses (sociocultural, historical, political discourses) disclose the boundaries of the text to the corresponding field of knowledge and locate the author’s perspective. The grammar structure analysis shows that the author’s intention is the activation of the reader’s consciousness. The reader’s experience and the authority of the author are equally important as the text corresponds to various discourses. The discourse expressions in the fictional texts by S. Nosov and M. Shishkin are marked by the expressive syntax constructions and punctuation that breaks the sequential connectivity. Thus, the text is integrated in the non-textual reality and this provides an opportunity to express the author’s viewpoint. The conclusion of the analysis of the fictional text in the actual textual and information contexts deals with the role of the fiction in modern sociocultural field.
