Borders and contexts as key aspects of socio-psychological perspective of studying identity

This article describes the reasons for the topicality and complexity of the research of identity in social psychology. It is suggested to use the results of researches in related Humanities and the system analysis to overcome conceptual differences. The essential nature of identity is defined as integrity with multilevel borders. The concept of contextuality is introduced. Its levels are described: monocentric, dihotomic, gomeostatic, opened.
