The article analyzes the features of civil liability under a personal life insurance contract. In the course of the study, violations of the terms of the contract in the form of non-performance, improper performance or abuse by the parties to the personal life insurance contract were studied. In turn, violation of the terms of the personal life insurance contract by the parties to the contract is the basis for the onset of civil liability for the subjects of insurance legal relations.
