The article deals with the analysis of D. Merezhkovsky’s work “Gryadushchy Ham (The Forthcoming Boor)” and I. Bunin’s work “Okayannye dni (Damned Days)”, which reflect the authors’ opinion on revolutionary events. The works can be viewed as documentary evidences of the epoch and sources for understanding social actions and ideas about fortunes of Russia in the XIX th century.
