The article is devoted to the 250-th anniversary of the birth of the outstanding representative of German philological neo-humanism, great statesman Wilhelm von Humboldt, whose philosophy-educational views and reforms influenced greatly the theoretical foundation of German pedagogy and education of the end of the XVIII-the beginning of the XIX-th centuries.
