X-linked ichthyosis (a clinical case)

X-linked ichthyosis is a genodermatosis with X-linked recessive inheritance. It characterized by impaired desquamation, dryness and coarseness of the skin due to steroid sulfatase deficiency. The disease occurs in males and can lead to visual impairment, cryptorchidism, mental retardation, epilepsy, skeletal anomalies and other dysplasias. To illustrate, we present our own clinical observation of X-linked ichthyosis in siblings.
