Characteristics of the concepts of "adaptation", "socio-psychological adaptation" and "maladaptation"

The concepts of «adaptation», «social adaptation», «socio-psychological adaptation» and «maladaptation» are considered. The characteristics of the concept «adaptation» in physiology, biology and psychology; the characteristics of the concept «social adaptation» in sociology are presented. The process of students' adaptation to the new educational environment is analyzed. The psychological, pedagogical and social factors of students' adaptation are described. Listed what are the main difficulties students may encounter in the process of adaptation. And the process of maladaptation is characterized.
