The article is devoted to the presentation of a study aimed at studying the nature of the connection between educational programs in the lower grades and the features of the formation of meta-subject competencies among fifth-graders. Group experiments were carried out on the material of the author's technique "Reasoning" with two contingents of students: 71 people mastered the program "School of Russia" in the lower grades, 74 people - the program "School 2100". As a result of the experiments, it turned out that students who mastered the "School 2100" program are superior to students who mastered the "School of Russia" program in the correctness of reasoning, as well as in the success of solving problems in a common way. At the same time, the results obtained indicated that the contingents do not differ in the formation of competencies associated with cognitive reflection and planning. In the future, it is planned to conduct research with students of the sixth and seventh grades.
