Directional characteristics of the laser pulse thermoacoustic emitter

Results of experimental studies to identify the dependence of directional characteristics of the laser pulse thermoacoustic emitter of bulk ultrasonic waves on its energy and geometrical parameters are shown. The experimental stand and measurement technique are described. The results obtained can be used to create a non-contact means of the ultrasonic quality control of metallic materials and products.
