The article studies the institution of chemical castration as a measure of punishing child molesters and rapists. Despite the increase in criminal liability and penalties, crimes against sexual crime against sexual inviolability and sexual freedom occur more and more often. This testifies to the fact that the measures applied by the state are only partially effective, therefore, we propose introducing a more effective punishment in relation to child molesters and rapists - chemical castration. The article describes the procedure of chemical castration, analyzes the experience of foreign countries, as well as the possibility of introducing this type of punishment into Russian legislation. We give a suggestion to introduce chemical castration in two versions: as a compulsory medical measure for people suffering from certain disorders and anomalies, and as an additional condition for the parole for persons convicted of sexual crimes.
Chemical castration, pedophilia, sexual abuse, criminal law, release on parole
