Chemical modification of chloroaniline for determination in water by gas chromatography

The simultaneous determination of aniline and its chloroderivatives (2 - and 4- chloroaniline, 2,4- and 2,6-dichloroaniline, 2,4,5 - and 2,4,6-trichloraniline) in aqueous media has been carried out by a gas chromatography method. The analytical procedure involved their derivatization to bromoderivatives with bromine and further liquid-liquid extraction and gas chromatography-electron capture detector determination. The conditions of the bromination reaction in the presence of bromide ions, extraction and gas chromatographic characteristics of chloroanilines and their bromoderivatives were studied. The efficiency of chemical modification of chloroanilines was estimated.
