Sternotomy is widely used in cardiac surgery, but it has some disadvantages: it causes great injury to the skeletal muscle system, there can be many complications of mediastinitis. For this reason, the authors analyzed 20 patients at the V.Vokhidov RIIATHM, where anomalous drainage of the pulmonary veins was eliminated by right anterolateral head thoracotomy. All operations were performed without technical difficulties with a right lateral head thoracotomy. The time of artificial blood circulation and cardioplegia was comparable to the time of standard operations. The applied right front lateral head thoracotomy reduced the time of artificial blood circulation and cardioplegia, the period of operation, the time the patient was in intensive care, and the time of hospitalization was reduced by 6.1±0.7 days. All patients were satisfied with the cosmetic surgery. No deaths were observed.
