In 29 patients with coronary artery disease, operated under extracorporeal circulation the plasma level of heat shock proteins 70, Cortisol, troponin I and CK-MB were studied. It was revealed, that during the surgical stress the increase in cardiac biomarkers and simultaneous rise in heat shock proteins production suggests the activation of cellular protective mechanisms to the surgical trauma and cardiopulmonary bypass and prevent the development of myocardial dysfunction after the operation.
