Brachymetatarsia is a rare disease, which is a malformation characterized by an abnormally short metatarsal bone due to premature closure of the epiphyseal growth zone. Objective: to introduce into surgical practice the method of one-stage lengthening of the metatarsal bones using an autograft from the tubular bones of the foot.Matherials and methods. This article describes the method of one-stage lengthening of the metatarsal bone using an autograft in the treatment of patients with brachymetatarsia. Most of the methods described in the world for the treatment of brachymetatarsia are the treatment of patients by distraction lengthening of the metatarsal bones using external fixators. Isolated cases of one-stage lengthening of the metatarsal bones, described in various sources, do not allow us to fully appreciate the dignity of this technique.Results. We operated on 27 patients with brachymetatarsia, the results of which were evaluated using scales of general aesthetic improvement. The results of the study presented in the article allow us to speak about the advantage of this technique over alternative methods of treatment. Conclusion. We managed to significantly reduce the treatment time for patients, achieving the expected aesthetic results.
