Surgical treatment of internal carotid artery pathological tortuosity in patients with cerebrovascular insufficiency

Long-term results (up to 5 years) of surgical treatment of 95 patients with pathological tortuosity of the internal carotid artery (102 operations) are presented. The indications for surgical treatment are specified and the efficiency of surgical correction, excision of the ostial fragment of internal carotid artery, with subsequent redressing and reimplantation into the original ostium, is shown.
