The article, based on field expedition material, reveals the role of bread in the food system and social communications among voluntary immigrants-Armenians from the Transcaucasian states (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia) in Mordovia (Russia). The author considers traditional kinds of home-made bread as a factor of preservation and representation of the Armenian ethnic identity in the multicultural and multinational environment.
