The article deals with syntactic peculiarities of the first-person narrative in a series of provincial detectives written by Rita Falk. These peculiarities are analyzed from the point of view of their belonging to a particular variety of modern German. The syntax of the author’s speech demonstrates a distinct South German dialectal coloring.
