Christian values and cultural traditions: a view through the prism of hagiographic text

The article deals with the psychological type of the holy man on the material of the monuments of Russian spiritual writing in the 15th-17th centuries. At the same time, there are shown some features of the hagiographic thesaurus, which characterize the northern Russian mentality. The author cites the opinions of leading experts on Old Russian script tradition and culture. Also, the theological-philosophical explication of the phenomenon being studied is given.
