Christian legends and mythological stories in the old believers’ folklore: to the problem historiography

The article analyzes the research and information resources devoted to the study of the Christian legends and mythological stories of the Old Believers of Transbaikalia, which have not been taken into account for many years by the collectors and researchers of the culture of the Semeiskiye, although they formed the whole layer of non-fabulous folklore prose of the Old Believers’ village of Transbaikalia. The issues of studying and classifying genres, functional features of non-fabulous prose works, genre-forming features of legend and mythological story are considered.
