The article analyses the novel “House of the Twins” (2013) by A. Korolyov in terms of cognitive and communicative modeling. Studying the text in this framework implies that the text semantics and its linguistic representation should be analyzed in two aspects: on the level of the content (factual and referential information is pointed out), and on the semantic level (deep conceptual information is defined). The analysis of the novel on such grounds helps to see the importance of the Christian “code” in the author’s worldview. The Christian “code” is revealed in the plot, composition, images and motifs of the novel, as well as on the quotation level. The author, playing in a postmodernist way with a detective story genre and the image of detective as a cognitively competent personality, who exposes the pseudo-factual world, comes across with the important for modern Russian literature problem of searching for true and valuable reality. In this case, the author refers to Christian symbols as ones of the most stable axiological markers for Russian culture.
