Chronological risk factors of suicides in the Kirov region

The research of suicides tendencies is of great scientific and practical interest. Many factors of suicides are still insufficiently studied that interferes with the organization of their effective prevention. As a result, there is a high need for effective methods of the prevention and decrease in frequency of suicides that requires of carrying out the various researches. Aims: The main goals of research work were the analysis of chronological parameters of complete suicides in the Kirov region, taking into account season, a day of the week and time of day. Methods: The analysis of 17018 cases of suicide which were committed from 1993 to 2014 years in the territory of the Kirov region were described 880 questionnaires of relatives of those who have committed suicide, during the period from 2006 to 2012, have been studied. Questionnaires have been collected by poll. Statistical processing of material was carried out with use of the one-factorial dispersive analysis and criterion the chi-square test. Results: It has been revealed that the level of suicides in the territory of the Kirov region in May-July months considerably exceeded average annual level (on 20-25 suicides). Most often suicides were committed on Monday: 15,3 cases on 100 suicides of males, 16,8 cases on 100 suicides of females. Shares of the suicide committed at different time days significantly differed. Dynamics of the relative frequency of committing of suicides within a day looked as a parabolic trend. The largest frequency of suicides was marked during the period from 10 to 13 o'clock (16,9 cases on 100 suicides). Conclusions: Results of a research should be considered by social surrounding and in case of the organization of medical attendance of the population.
