Koguryŏ tombs with wall paintings are the important source for study material and spiritual culture of the Middle Ages Korean. The dating of majority Koguryŏ tombs is a difficult problem because dating materials are insufficient. The using history-philological and typological methods can't define the chronology of Koguryŏ tombs with wall paintings. The purpose of this article is the definition of Koguryŏ tombs dating by methods definition measure of similarity between archaeological objects and circuit organization. As the result using these methods is the definition followed chronology of tombs. The earliest Koguryŏ tombs have lateral chambers or niches and dating by the 4th century AD. The 5th century AD Koguryŏ tombs consist of two chambers. The wall paintings of the 4-5th century AD Koguryŏ tombs represent daily life of Koguryŏ nobility. The 6-7th century AD Koguryŏ tombs have one chamber and wall paintings with four mythical animals which play the central role among different pictures. The definition of chronology help to study Koguryŏ nobility' funeral ceremony, religious and mythological views of Koguryŏ people, realization of different sociological reconstruction.
