Literary detail as a genre-forming feature

The article focuses on the problem of literary detail as a genre forming feature. Analysis of the texts of two genres – science fiction and fantasy – showed that specific assumption about how we view reality inherent in these types of text finds its realization in imitative and specifying detail belonging to the denotational space of the text and in associative detail pertaining to its conceptual space. All the types mentioned are expressed by certain stylistic means and devices.
