Analyzes the artistic function of the unity of time and space in the compositional structure of a literary work, using T. Sydykbekov's novel "The Path" as an example. It briefly examines the study of the concepts of time and space in literary criticism, as well as the significance of the concept of chronotope, introduced by Russian scholar M. Bakhtin, in a literary work. Using the work The Path as an example, it discusses how space and time are not just a backdrop but also conceptual categories that shape and define the work, and how these categories form the basis of the composition and are an integral part of it. Conclusions are drawn that in the work The Path, the author's skillful use of the unity of time and space does not cause disbelief in the reader and, on the one hand, fulfills an artistic function, while on the other, plays an important role in transforming life’s truth into artistic truth.
