The article deals with the problems of artistic and aesthetic development of students of children's music schools by means of integrating music and fine arts through their artistic and aesthetic education. The author defines the concept of "integration" in general scientific and pedagogical aspects, identifies the theoretical basis of the study. The concept of artistic and aesthetic development of personality as a process of full-fledged development of perception of art, formation of creative abilities is considered. Integration as the unification of various types of art into a single whole in the conditions of additional education becomes a means of achieving a holistic, harmoniously developed personality. To this end, the author suggests a synesthetic approach as an intersensual association to explain the meaning of musical images. The author also presents the pedagogical conditions for the implementation of integrated lessons using special methods of teaching music and art.
