Artistic material at the folk craft of Sayano-Altaic Turks (revival experience of tradition)

This article is an attempt to show the main stages of formation and development of the metal art and jewelry trade since the late XIX century to the early XXI century in the Sayano-Altai region involving new archival and field materials. Having a high level of development to the beginning of the twentieth century, this trade is not evolved as a separate craft and remained in the household structure. The rise of interest in the art of the indigenous Siberian peoples marked in 1920-1930-ies and in 1960-1970-ies. Art metal reflects the ideological tenets of the Soviet state, and mainly focuses on the historical and political themes. Ethnic theme occupied a small part of the range. Since the beginning of the 2000s at the Sayano-Altai revival of traditional technologies of artistic metal has been started, schools craftsmanship has been organized, the products have been made in the etnoarchaic style.
