Art museum. The epoche and the people

In the article the personal aspect of the history of the Krasnodar Regional Art Museum is analyzed. Founded in Ekaterinodar more than a hundred years ago by the efforts of collector Fedor A. Kovalenko the museum remains a center of intellectual and cultural life of the townspeople. A huge role in the museum''s development, increasing the volume of its assets, preserving the priceless works of art at the turning points of the history such as the Revolution, the Civil War and the Great Patriotic War played Romuald K. Wojcik, Mikhail P. Bogoyavlenskiy, Alexandra K. Osipova and others. The story of replenishment of museum collections by numerous donations of works of art by the artists and private collectors is covered in detail. Currently the museum has significantly expanded exhibition space and maintains a large exhibition work, organizing its own exhibition in the Russian and foreign art museums.
