The idea of justice in Buddhist traditions

Against the background of the aggravation of a whole range of global problems, the issue of universal human values is gaining ground today. Recognition of the existence of universal human values makes constructive dialogue and cooperation between people possible. In this regard, studies aimed at discovering not only the specific, but also the universal in understanding fundamental values, such as justice, are of interest. The article considers the idea of justice through the lens of Buddhist traditions, its connection with the most important ideas of the teaching (karma, samsara, dependent origination) in inseparable unity with the virtues of mercy and compassion. The Buddhist view of justice enriches ideas about justice and can have a beneficial effect on the practice of implementing its principles in the field of human rights, social justice, environmental ethics, contributing to the harmonization of social relations in general.
