Identification of gens controlling the coloring of ray flowers in a sunflower mutant line

Sunflower subline VK 850 was obtained through mutagenesis of water solution of NEM. It contains apricot color of ray flowers. This subline was crossed with different sunflower lines. Results obtained in F1 and F2 generations of the crosses standard yellow × apricot indicate monogenic recessive control of apricot color of ray flowers. Apricot color is determined to be recessive to traditional yellow one. Results obtained in F1 and F2 generations of the crosses lemon × apricot and orange × apricot indicates epistatic effect. Cross between two different apricot sunflower lines indicate the phenotypic allelism in F1 and F2 generations.
