The Ideological Foundations of Russia’s New Positioning to Strengthen Its Influence in the Post-Soviet Space

State ideology is an important element of modern political positioning. Ideology not only makes it possible to formulate basic political programs and determine the prospects for the development of society, but also serves as a necessary tool for building public relations and strengthening national identity in conditions of political instability. This article examines the issues surrounding the formation and implementation of state ideology in rela-tion to the current geopolitical context and the peculiarities of the Russian Federation’s interactions with the coun-tries of the former Soviet Union. The author highlights certain aspects of ideological positioning, their philosophical, sociological and political prerequisites; provides a detailed picture of the modern political picture and positioning of Russia in the post-Soviet space. In conclusion, the author suggests a modern ideological model of Russia’s posi-tioning, foreign policy influence, and partnership building in the post-Soviet space.
