The article is devoted to one of the directions in modern atheistic ideology - transhumanism, which includes such concepts as materialism, Darwinism, positivism and similar, which, as a rule, have a theomachic character. Despite quite successful attempts of Church criticism to prove the inconsistency of this trend, the latter, nevertheless, does not cease to be widely popular among not only atheistically inclined scientists, but even among the most seemingly inexperienced people. The danger of transhumanism lies primarily in the denial of the idea of God as the creator and ruler of the world, putting in the first place the belief in self-development, which includes a universal evolutionary approach. In other words, an attempt is being made to replace religious faith founded on Revelation with atheistic faith (as a process of self-development), which is based on a universal evolutionary method and acts as an image of future “knowledge”. Speaking of transhumanism, it should be noted that its ultimate goal is expressed in an attempt to make a claim to divine existence, and then completely replace it with the so-called “superorganism” of the future, endowed not only with immortality and eternity, but also with supermind, omnipresence, spirituality, etc., in other words, with all those qualities that, as it is known, are inherent exclusively to God.
