The problem of using play technologies at the lessons of history in the framework of basic and secondary school is considered. The author speaks of the role-playing game as a means of improving the effectiveness of teaching, which can be used in modern conditions. The above examples of games were tested in the course of practical activities in one of the schools in the city of Elabuga.
