Imitation of criminal behavior in operational search activities: theoretical and methodological aspect

The article investigates some aspects of the implementation of imitation of criminal behavior in the operational-search activity, analyzes the feasibility and purpose of this process, to solve private problems of the operational- investigative activity, considers the improvement of traditional and development of new forms and methods of combating crime. Materials and Methods : the basis of the study are the Constitution of the Russian Federation, operational-investigative legislation, departmental regulatory legal acts regulating the issues of operational-investigative counteraction to criminal manifestations. The methodological basis of the study was the dialectical method of scientific knowledge, formal-logical, systemic, structural-functional and other general scientific methods, as well as scientific methods of analogy, the search for patterns, and comparative analysis. The Results of the Study : in the course of the work a logical and semantic analysis of the results of scientific research concerning the simulation processes in the operative-investigative activity, the author proposed a new definition of this phenomenon, highlighted the elements that characterize it, the problem of the need for deep study and application in the operative-investigative activity was set. Findings and Conclusions : taking into account the transformation of criminal manifestations, the widespread use of modern technologies by the criminal element. There is an objective need to modernize the operational-search toolkit aimed at combating crime. Taking into account the fact that the imitation of criminal behavior is not legislated, there is an urgent need for its normative regulation at the level of operational-investigative law.
