The paper considers the main approaches to simulation modeling of processes within the framework of the Industry 4.0 concept. It is emphasized that the basis of successful digitalization is the identification of the necessary measuring information about the technical and socio-economic subsystems of the cyber-physical system. A digital enterprise as a cyber-physical system should be implemented on a single digital platform that integrates technologies for simulating digital twins of technical and socio-economic subsystems. The introduction of the ideas of information management will ensure the consolidation of the information resources of the enterprise and provide the necessary cognitive ability to make managerial decisions. The author substantiates the use of mathematical models, which describe the properties and parameters of the system or process, as well as on conducting computer experiments with these models. The article shows that simulation modeling can be used to analyze and optimize various systems and processes, including manufacturing, transportation, financial, environmental and others. It is important to point out that the result of the presented research proves the ability to predict the behavior of the system under different conditions, determine its vulnerability and find optimal solutions for its improvement. Examples of simulation applications include creating models for analyzing traffic on roads, optimizing production processes, forecasting prices on financial markets, and modeling ecosystems.
