The article substantiates economic opportunities and political realities in the integration process in the post-Soviet space. The author believes that the thesis about the imperial heritage in the politics of modern Russia, and its desire to dominate the post-Soviet space, is fundamentally wrong. For this, Russia does not have significant economic and political opportunities. To implementation of the project "USSR 2.0" today is categorically unrealistic. It is noted that the future of the post -Soviet republics is seen in close integration processes of an economic nature, the prerequisites for which objectively exist, despite the political conflicts and challenges of our time.
