Tibial impression deformities for malleolar fractures

The study deals with the analysis of treatment results in 360 patients with malleolar fractures. Conservative treatment was performed in 81 cases, surgical one - in 279 cases. Bone grafting was not used in the study. Long-term results were studied in 199 cases. In the immediate rehabilitation period the loss of reposition correction caused by impression changes was observed in 36.8 % cases of pronation fractures. Valgus deformity of limb axis developed as a result. The results of the study emphasize the necessity of bone grafting use for treatment of such fractures.
