Female property rights in traditional Vepsian society

The article gives a general overview of the specific characteristics of property rights, which a woman in the traditional culture of «veps» (a numerically small ethnic group in the North-West of the Russian Federation) had. The research is based on the data stored in the Scientific Archive of the Russian Ethnographic Museum (Saint-Petersburg), the Archive of the Museum of Anthropology and Ethnography named after Peter the Great (Saint-Petersburg), the Archive of the Karelian Research Centre of RAS (Petrozavodsk) and on the preceding historical-ethnographical studies.
