Index of military ration as an indicator of armed forces provision: comparative analysis

The article reflects the results of a comparative analysis of the development of individual nutrition rations for military personnel in different countries. The list of states included in the research sample is based on the “GFP” (GLOBAL FIREPOWER) rating, according to which they make up the top five in the global military sphere: Russia, the USA, China, India, and South Korea. The importance of military ration packs for catering military personnel in marching conditions is noted, due to which they must meet a number of requirements for the balance of proteins, fats and carbohydrates, calories, etc., defined by the food technologists of the military ministries of different countries in accordance with the degree of complexity of the tasks performed by the military personnel. The results of the comparative analysis of the individual food ration kits showed that the Russian military ration packs are superior to the others in a number of indicators, in particular in terms of the energy value of the rations and the price-quality ratio. Overall, they are at an average level in the sample.
