The Indian cinema of globalization era as a tool of conservation and retransmission of traditional cultural values

This article considers the problem of retransmission of traditional cultural values in Indian cinema. After analyzing the relationship of cultural values which are enshrined in the ancient Indian texts and values which are reflected in contemporary films, the author realises their conscious inclusion in the plots of films as a means of maintaining cultural traditions, ethnic and cultural consciousness and identity in conditions of increased globalization in all spheres of life.
