The regulation of psychophysiological processes is a very poorly studied phenomenon, like all regulatory processes of the human body as a whole, since the activity of these processes is associated not only with the types of the nervous system, but also with the influence of various external and internal factors. This paper examines the individual characteristics of the subjects' reactions to significant and neutral questions during polygraph examinations in order to identify the most optimal conditions for conducting examinations and obtaining the most accurate and reliable results. Special attention is paid to the influence of the activity of the autonomic nervous system on respiration, galvanic skin reaction, photoplethysmogram parameters, tremors, pulse rate and blood pressure; the relationship between ANS and information concealment, as well as the peculiarities of the functioning of the autonomic nervous system in people prone to information concealment.
