Individual differences in the second learning a language in the learning process

In this article we will look at the role of the individual student in the learning process. We begin by looking at some of the recent work in the area of individual differences in language learning and point out a number of problems associated with research in this area. We suggest that an alternative approach to this topic would be a constructivist approach that focuses on how individual learners understand their learning situations in ways that are personal to them.
