Infective endocarditis in patients with connective tissue displasia

The aim of our study was to analyse infective endocarditis in patients diagnosed for connective tissue dysplasia in 14.8% of 338 IE cases, including 11.3% with congenital bicuspid aortic valve, 3.2% with mitral valve prolapse and 0.3% with abnormal chorda of the left ventricule. 31.6% of patients with congenital bicuspid aortic valve have been determined expansion of the ascending aorta (41-55 mm). The group of patients with congenital bicuspid aortic valve needed surgical treatment more frequently - 74.4%.
