Information and communication technologies as a tool to implement the principle of access to justice

Since January 1, 2017, it is possible to file documents electronically with courts of general jurisdiction. This provision was introduced by Federal Law No. 220-FZ of June 23, 2016 "On Amending Certain Legislative Acts of the Russian Federation Regarding the Application of Electronic Documents to the Activities of the Judiciary Bodies." These changes serve as a means of legal protection of citizens. The article is meant to analyze these innovations through the prism of the principle of access to justice.
