The article is devoted to the study of the issue related to the need to apply information and computer technology and the search for theoretical substantiation of the effectiveness of their application in foreign language classes. The relevance of the selected topic for the study is due to the search for modern and effective forms and methods for training in foreign languages, along with information and computer progress in the field of higher education. Informatization of education, in particular the highest, one of the primary tasks and dictated a new educational paradigm to pedagogical needs. In the article, we define and analyze the advantages of the modern method of learning and consider the effectiveness of the application of information and computer technologies in a foreign language classes. Unconventional forms of training with the use of information and computer technologies help the teacher to implement a number of training functions; students develop research skills, increase the motivation to the study of foreign languages, develop the skills of independent work with authentic material. The article focuses on theoretical basics of using information technologies in the process of learning foreign languages. We offer training foreign languages based on the leading modality of perception of students: visual learners, audio learners, kinesthetic learners and discretionary learners. This method involves a personal-oriented approach in training, and in connection with this, the article provides a detailed description of each type of information perception by students in order to efficiently teach foreign language in non-language universities. The article also gives an assessment of the usefulness of application of IT when teaching foreign languages.
