Information-legal support of e-government in the Republic of Azerbaijan

The purpose of the article is to determine the key directions of development of information-legal support of e-Government in the Republic of Azerbaijan. Research method is a systematic analysis of the concept of e-Government and information legislation of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Achieved results are based on the analysis of the basic concepts of “electronic government (e-Government)”, “open government”, “digital government” and practices of their implementation define the object-matters and key directions of development of information-legal support of e-Government in the Republic of Azerbaijan. The purpose of the development of information-legal support of e-Government is to improve the system of public adminis- tration, increase openness and transparency of public authorities, accountability of the entire system of public authorities to society and the involvement of citizens in the processes of public administration through the use of modern information technologies and digital information resources. The achievements and challenges in the field of legal regulation of the mass media, ensuring of access to information on the activities of public authorities, ensuring of information security in the Republic of Azerbaijan are considered.
